Routine medical checkup gone bad.

      My Mother went in Friday to have her colon scoped she is 74 and has had some bowel troubles. Now days doctors recommend any one over 50 to have one. Well what was going to be routine turned into emergency surgery when the doctor punctured her large intestine.

    Now she lives in a small town about 70 miles from me but it has a small regional hospital where she went for the scope. My Brother took her and was there when the doctor came out to inform the family what had happened. My brother went APE-SHIT as any son would being informed of something like this. Scared the doctor that he was going to be in need of medical assistance. The doctor run and hid . I did not know that 1 out of 1000 scopes caused tears or holes.

    A hole in the colon is a dangerous situation due to bile, fecal matter and bleeding . It took the staff 6 hours to find a surgeon and hospital room in Birmingham to fix her back up. Long story short the surgeon fixed the hole found she had an S shape where it shouldn't have been and narrowing around scar tissue .

 

   Mom will be released tomorrow the doctor says she is doing great and her past problems should be gone. It appears the other doctor (idiot) did no wrong other than not getting her to surgery quicker .

    The moral of this is there is no such thing as ROUTINE . This is something advised for everyone after 50 and in Moms case it could have been tragic . Ever wonder why you have to sign all those forms ? this is why.

  I admit I dislike most doctors and have mistrust of a business that calls itself a PRACTICE  instead of a PROFESSION.

   While I don't have a problem with them doing this, for some reason I have a problem believing they will GIVE it away.

    The government commodity programs ended in the early 80s much to the destruction of family farms . I remember commodity cheese and pork and beef. In the 70s the government determined break even cost on farm products. If say milk went 20% below cost of production the government bought till the price returned to even  if it rose above a certain % profit it sold its inventory to drop price.

    Back then it stabilized food cost, provided food for the hungry and supplemented school lunch programs. It also guarantied as a nation we had a 90+ day supply of grains meat and dairy . We had a national pantry! Those Days are gone what we have now is just government subsidy to corporations till more family farms fail .

 Our economies are very similar one thing I found interesting was in the last paragraph they have a national food storage program. We use to but that was then.

 It appears that FEMA is slow in responding AGAIN.  The only national figure to show concern has been Trump.
  Even my Alabama heart feels for there coon asses (LSU fans) so I offer a way to help next time.
   If Trump wins he should move the offices of  FEMA to Louisiana that way next time they will be in trouble to. I would bet if their kids and wives had to wade 4 foot of shit filled water they would respond faster.

      There are rumblings' for the RNC to abandon Trump because of what the media has twisted his words to sound like.

1 If you listen to what he said in what context it is never as the headline's make it seem.

2 The MSN wants to spin every thing to damage Trump

3 The media can't understand why their opinion don't make a difference with voters.

4  The RNC and its members are as panicked as the MSN because Senate and house members are scared to use plain English that pins their opinion .

Hot summer blaaa's and work.

     Like every one the heat of summer is getting to me to. I have been trying to limit outside jobs but a lot seems to be falling my way.

  I just took on cutting my oldest daughters yard every week. It only takes 30 minutes to cut and trim her place and it pays 20$ . Why did I take the job ? Its 20$ for 30 minutes DuH. Yes I am charging her, she is lazy . A teen up her street was doing it but it was to hard and hot so he quit, (wussey). I did pick up and swap out her  dryer today ( no charge That is a daddy job) I haven't told her I made 12$ scrapping her old one on the way home :). It is back to painting tommarow on youngest daughter place 2 more days and it will be painted. Electrician may show Thursday waiting on that call.

     Other than that I have been staying in just piddling dehydrating some stuff . I got 4 gallons of potatoes done and 6 lbs. of carrots next is going to be Vidalia onions. I have rendered 30 gallons of beer down to 6 gallons of heaven .
